Dear friends of Brook of Hope Home, with all the wonderful progress that is being made with our Brook of Hope Home in Zambia, I thought it would be important to provide a snapshot summary with some recent photographs provided to me by Peter Musentekwa.

Arrival of vegetable seedlings

Garden is watered by hand

Vegetables planted in worked soil on property

Additional seedlings planted in mounds

60 two-day old chicks delivered by bus to our property

Week-old chicks at feeders and water stations. They’ll be ready to sell in 6 weeks

Improved front yard with landscaping completed
In addition to the vegetable garden and the start of our poultry project, thanks to financial support from friends of Brook of Hope Home, we were also able to purchase three bunk beds and a single bed complete with six new mattresses!
We have been greatly blessed having signed a one-year lease on this rental property. We were impressed with the safe location, near the town centre and close to schools and church. The property included two houses, a larger and a smaller in addition to workshop and four chicken houses. The land has proven to be suitable for planting with several existing fruit bearing trees for our use. God truly has blessed us with this location.
Here are some photos showing building services and property wall/fence.

Our own water tank!

Shop window facing the street for selling eggs, chickens and vegetables

Safety fence around the property
Here we have further property photos showing the main building and more of the available property

Introducing Blessings:
Blessings is a nine-year-old girl currently enrolled in grade 4 primary school. She was living with her grandmother and many other people in a small and crowded house. Blessings loves to read, sing and she likes to help around the house by sweeping. She dreams about becoming a doctor some day so she can help others. Blessings is now comfortably living at Brook of Hope Home where she truly has hope for a bright future.
Coming in January 2024:
We anticipate finalizing the paperwork required to allow us to bring in a 14-year-old homeless boy so he can start attending school once again. Your prayers and financial help for this new child are greatly appreciated.
Finally, may each of you have a safe and blessed Christmas season.
Sincerely,
Debra DiPaola,
Brook of Hope Home President
