Happy New Year 2026

Happy New Year from Kabwe, Zambia!

Happy New Year to you! As we begin this new year, we want to pause with grateful hearts and share how God was at work during the Christmas season here in Kabwe, Zambia. Your continued prayers and support allow us to keep ministering faithfully to the children and the wider community, even during the busiest times of the year.

This past December, we were profoundly thankful to welcome a team from Teen Missions International (TMI) Ndola. Their group of 23 teenagers and 8 adult leaders partnered with us throughout the Christmas season and were truly an incredible blessing. We were deeply encouraged by their discipline, hard work, joyful spirit, and strong faith.

Despite the challenge of daily rain, the team showed remarkable resilience and made a significant contribution to our ongoing building project. Together, they:

  • Plastered the main classroom block

  • Plastered the toilet block

  • Left behind much-needed sand, which will allow us to continue plastering the remaining portions of the facility

These classrooms will stand for years to come as a testimony to their labour of love—and to what is possible when God’s people work together!

Beyond the physical work, the spiritual impact of the TMI teens was deeply felt throughout Kabwe. Their ministry included:

  • Serving and ministering at two local partner churches, where their testimonies and worship blessed many

  • Participating in local evangelism alongside one of our partner churches

  • Sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the open marketplace, including a joyful puppet presentation (we’ve included a short video and a few photos so you can see this outreach in action)

One especially meaningful part of this visit was the opportunity for two of our secondary school girls, Falija and Brenda, to join the TMI crew for the two weeks. They gained valuable experience and connection as they participate in the experience by eating, sleeping, and living side by side with the TMI visitors. This time of shared life, faith, and fellowship had a lasting impact on them.

We would also like to commend the TMI adult leadership, who managed the team with excellence. We are grateful to report that there were no disciplinary issues and no illness during their stay which is something that we see as God’s protection, especially given the wet conditions and the labour involved.

As we step into this new year, we want you to know that we continue to work hard, minister faithfully, and reach out to children and families who need hope. Thank you for standing with us. You are part of every classroom built, every child encouraged, and every message of hope shared.

We close with this Scripture as we begin the year together:

Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Galatians 6:9

May the Lord bless you richly in this New Year.

With sincere gratitude,

Debra DiPaola
