What We Do

TRANSFORM LIVES

Our purpose is to help transform the lives of vulnerable and homeless orphaned children in Zambia, Africa. They have a safe place to go as a reprieve from their challenging living environment . With your donations, they are fed physically and spiritually. We meet with them twice a week to share a meal, offer encouragement, teach practical life skills and most importantly show them the love of God.

EDUCATION

We are bringing lasting transformation to vulnerable and homeless orphaned children in Zambia. Because of generous donors, children eager to return to school receive everything they need—free tuition, weekly tutoring, nutritious meals and snacks, times of praise and worship, biblical teaching, positive fellowship, and a safe place to belong. And for street youth who are not yet ready to return to school, your giving provides mentorship, practical entrepreneurship training, and basic skills to help them build a brighter future.

For those children demonstrating academic excellence and a desire to continue their education at the university level, scholarships will be provided.

Where We Are Today

Brook of Hope Home is in Kabwe, Zambia—situated between two of the region’s largest slum areas, Makululu compound (one of the largest in southern Africa) and Katondo. Kabwe is ranked among the world’s ten most polluted cities, and sadly, holds the number one spot for lead poisoning following the closure of the mines.
Our secure compound is in a safe part of town, conveniently located near main roads and across from a large open field where children gather to play after lessons and lunch. The property itself is spacious and well-suited for sustainability, with plenty of room for vegetable gardens, fruit trees, and two chicken houses that provide food year-round.
We currently have three classrooms where students receive tutoring, along with new pit latrines (separate for boys and girls), a well that supplies clean drinking water, and reliable access to electricity.
At the heart of the compound is a three-bedroom house, complete with an indoor bathroom, kitchen, and living room, serving both as a welcoming home environment and a gathering place for the community.

OUTREACH

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

At Brook of Hope Home, outreach is part of our program. We believe true transformation happens not only in the classroom, but also in the home and community.

  • Supporting Families with Daily Food Needs
Monthly, our dedicated staff visit the homes of our students to bring encouragement, check on the well-being of each family, and provide a 25kg bag of mealie meal. This staple food ensures that children have the nourishment they need to grow strong and remain focused on their studies. Your support makes this possible.
  • Partnering with Schools for Success
Education changes lives. That is why our Program Manager regularly visits local schools, meeting with teachers to review the progress of each student. These visits strengthen the connection between home, school, and our charity, ensuring no child is left behind in their learning journey.
  • Reaching the Community
Beyond our students, we also serve the wider community. Families are invited to come and purchase fresh vegetables, chickens, and eggs—supporting both their nutritional needs and our sustainability efforts.
Through these outreach efforts, Brook of Hope Home builds hope that extends beyond one child, touching families and uplifting entire communities.
